Terms & Conditions

Below are our Terms and Conditions as well as our Code of Conduct.
To participate in lessons with us you must agree to all conditions.

By registering at FSDance & College of Creative Arts, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

• An annual non-refundable Registration Fee ($50 pr person) must be paid to secure the child’s placement in the class/es. This covers all the necessary admin, insurances and copyright fees.

• Fees will only be accepted monthly and paid on the first of each month — February to December (no fees billed in January).

• All students must register for Autopay prior to commencing any classes at FSDance.

• Classes can be added at any stage during the Term, with tuition calculated on a Pro-Rata basis until the next tuition cycle.

• Preschool classes offer a one month ‘Introductory Period’. The full cost of the month applies.

• Packages are charged on a monthly basis (11 months only) and is inclusive of all expenses as outlined in the Fees Schedule. The pubic holidays have been factored in and will not be re-imbursed.

• There are NO CREDITS OR REFUNDS for classes missed.

• For Preschool children that wish to make up a missed class, it must be booked within a fortnight of the missed class by emailing admin@fsdance.com.au

• For any monthly payments that default, there is a $12.50 default fee.

• Any one-off fees, payment must be paid by the due date to avoid late fees.

• If fees that fall behind due to defaulted payments, the studio will contact the parents to discuss. Failure to pay fees will pause the child’s participation until they are paid.

• Private lesson spaces are made available to the student and must be booked and paid for the Term in advance. There are NO REFUNDS for missed private lessons. Students may exchange their lesson for someone else’s. Only in extreme circumstances will there be allowances. Private fees cover all tuition, the music section and editing, music copyright and master CD’s.

• Solo dance choreography belong to the studio and the teacher / choreographer. The student cannot pass on their dance to someone else or take the routine if they cancel their registration.

• Please make aware of any concerns or problems you may have and we can set up an appointment to discuss viable options. We are here to listen, support and encourage.

• Please contact the studio if your child will be absent for extended periods of time and monthly payments may be paused.

• For prolonged absences, fees will need to be prorated to include items such as costumes (that are part of the all-inclusive month fee).

• If a student wishes to discontinue or change their classes, the studio must be informed so that further payments can be cancelled or adjusted.

• One months notice in writing MUST be given to cancel a class.

• If a pandemic arises, classes will automatically be taken online and all terms and conditions will remain as stated above.

 CODE OF CONDUCT

Parents & Students: 

  • Students to address all teachers with the respectful title of ‘Miss’ or ‘Mr’ before their name.

  • Students must arrive a minimum of 5-10 minutes before class to warm-up as every endeavour is made to run on time.

  • Arrange to speak with teachers outside of class time by making an appointment via email.

  • Watch classes only during official ‘Open Weeks’ or when special permission is granted from the director.

  • Uphold good and honourable behaviour as well as keeping our reception / waiting room noise to a bare minimum.

  • Respect the studio property and not partake in activities that may defect any part of the study, put rubbish in bins provided.

  • Clean up yourself and keep our facilities hygienically clean and tidy, put rubbish away in bins provided. Ensure changing and dressing of preschool children takes place in the bathrooms only!

  • Be respectful to teachers and staff, and other students.

  • Students must uphold the studio’s healthy nutrition policy for a healthy mind, body & spirit.


Studio Teachers will:

- Demonstrate integrity in all professional and business relationships.
- Carry out with due skill care and proper regard for the technical and professional standards expected.
- Uphold good reputation and standards of the studio.
- Work in an open and cooperative manner with students and families to ensure that students are not discriminated against on any grounds.
- Undertake continuing professional development to ensure knowledge and practice remains current.
- Always act in such a manner as to promote and safeguard the interests and well-being of the students trust and confidence.
- Ensure that confidential information obtained should not be used for personal advantage or to be disclosed without the consent of the student, parent or director. 
- Comply with all statutory requirements affecting health & safety at work.
- Please be reminded that students are not supervised in between or during break times. The studio and its teachers are only responsible for the time that the student is participating in classes.

Indemnity:

In consideration of Fiona Donaldson or teaching staff and guest teachers of FSDance & College of Creative Arts, teaching me or my child routines, I hereby indemnify and shall hold indemnified the said Fiona Donaldson or her teaching staff against actions, claims and demands that may have arisen or may arise out of my/my child’s attendance at such lessons or me or my child undertaking any such routines, exercises, dances, steps, including any injury or damage occasioned to me or my child following any instruction, advice, guidance or lessons given by the said Fiona Donaldson or teaching staff.

Online Class Waiver: 

Before classes are undertaken remotely, students must ensure and be aware that: 

1. By participating you are doing so at your own risk; you must ensure and confirm suitable, non-slip floor space in which to participate

2. The activities should be avoided if you have, or suspect you may have any current health concerns, injuries, aches and/or pains.

3. Sessions are conducted for the benefit of existing members/participants/contacts only who have demonstrated sufficient suitability to participate.

4. The session is recorded and retained for viewing in the event of an incident being reported.

5. Tumbling will be excluded online.

6. Ensure you are wearing appropriate clothing for the style of class. Do not wear baggy clothes that can be caught on objects.

7. Ensure that dancers have adequate space to move in and that all obstacles (such as furniture) are pushed out of the way. 

8. Videos and materials accessed on our studio's Google Drive are only for the use of our students at home and are NOT to be copied or shared by anyone.

 Photo Release:

I irrevocably consent to and authorise the use and reproduction by you, or anyone authorised by you, of any and all photographs of me, negative or positive, mechanical or electronic, for any purpose whatsoever, without restriction. I hereby release FSDance & College of Creative Arts from any liability by virtue of any use of the photographs or any changes or alterations made thereto. I hereby waive any right to approve the finished photograph or any copy of which might be used.
